About Bob

Bob Kramer, a Nationally recognized PGA Teaching Professional, Motivational Speaker, and Golf Coach, is a two-time PGA Teacher of the Year, Philadelphia Section PGA, Philadelphia Magazine Best of Philly, a Golf Magazine award-winning golf instructor, and a Golf Digest Best Teacher in your State award winner.

While Bob is well known for developing tournament players, what he most treasures is his long- term teaching and coaching relationships with his junior, amateur, and professional students. Coach Kramer, as his students call him, has developed and taught some of the finest players in the world, as well as coached players on all three major golf tours.

Bob’s direct communication skills, and his hands-on approach, allow his students to quickly understand what it will take to improve their game. This hands-on method is used to find the specific areas they need to work on, and uncovers the practice areas that will increase their skill, and make them better players.

With almost 30 years devoted to the game of Golf, Bob’s personal teaching philosophy blends customized education with the mental and physical aspects of the individual. Personal goals, body structure and commitment levels are also considered, and Bob’s teaching programs are shaped to fit the needs of amateurs or professionals locally, nationally or internationally.

Loyal to his vision and ideals, Bob’s work history includes just four positions to date. In the late 1980’s, Bob opened the Bob Kramer Golf Academy and Practice Center in Douglassville, PA. Located across the street from the Blackwood Golf Club, Bob recognized the need for a fully appointed golf practice center, to round out a golfer’s support for the game.

In this location, he designed his first Golf Academy which offered a sheltered teaching studio, a perfectly manicured bent grass putting green, and an area specially designed for advanced short game practice and teaching. Over a ten year period, Bob worked with budding amateur golfers who became leaders in their field, as well as PGA Touring Pros that included Betsy King, LPGA Hall of Famer.

He closed the Academy when his reputation led him to accept a position as Director of Instruction at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, PA. While at this facility, he continued to hone his teaching skills and attract the interest of beginners, amateurs and PGA Professionals of merit, including Catriona Matthew, LPGA Tour Champion.

As Bob’s reputation grew, it was always his students who led him to the next level, and when his contract ended, he was asked to join the staff as Director of Instruction at Rivercrest Golf Club & Preserve, in Phoenixville, PA, where he transitioned back to operating the Bob Kramer Golf Academy at Rivercrest, a position that framed him as “Coach Kramer”.

Philadelphia Magazine has honored Bob as a PGA Pro “who is gifted at working with women and juniors,” and his “Best of Philly” award acknowledges him for his “strong record at helping kids score golf scholarships.”

With his contract nearing an end, Bob was invited to represent Bent Creek Country Club, in Lancaster County, as their current Director of Golf. This premier family-oriented private country club is a perfect match for Bob’s strong teaching and marketing skills. Bob recognizes that a seasoned Golf Professional has the ability to be a leader in growing the game of golf and game development, and he is proud to share this vision, as he works to increase the visibility and reputation of the facility he represents. After 3 seasons at Bent Creek, Coach Kramer was invited to join the staff at Indian Valley as Director of Instruction and Create The Learning Academy at Indian Valley.

Highly awarded, this PGA Professional has used his talent to help shape junior golfers into leading contenders, and his coaching skills have been nationally recognized. His Golf Academy offers corporate golf schools, short game schools, junior academy, and private instruction. Using a sheltered tee for winter training, Bob has been able to provide off-season instruction, and has had great success with his winter school in Florida. Bob is available for motivational speaking engagements, as well as Corporate Golf Exhibitions.

"The dream begins, most of the time, with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you on to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth."--Dan Rather

…I have always strived to be that teacher...
~Bob Kramer

"Bob has been my swing coach since 1998. I owe much of my success in golf to Bob and his simple, clear approach to understanding and improving my golf swing. Bob has helped me with all facets of my game. I have won 47 local professional tournaments, 41 of these wins were captured during my association with Bob from 1998-2008 I highly recommend Bob Kramer to anyone that is serious about improving their golf game." ~ George Forster, PGA Professional
